The Pilates method.
The Pilates method is a type of physical conditioning designed by Joseph Pilates at the beginning of the last century, positing that body and mind function as a unified entity. The principles of the method are: breathing, precision, concentration, control, flow and centre.
The movements that are performed during the practice of this discipline are controlled and precise, which makes the risk of suffering from injury impossible and makes it ideal for anybody, independently of their age or physical condition.
In our studio we rely on the barrel, wall unit and Reformer, the last one being a popular piece of equipment used for a general head-to-toe workout. By practicing this method you will increase strength, flexibility, improve your posture, reduce stress and enhance your powers of concentration above all. All of this without any impact on your joints.
For many people, Pilates is seen as a soft workout with stretches, but this method can be a very intense training program, putting your control, strength and flexibility to the test through the exercises.
Ask for information and come along to one of our classes to try it out, with no commitments, and start to enjoy the benefits of the Pilates method now.
